Place: Lounge of the Binkley Memorial Baptist Church Time: 10:30 AM LECTURE Place: Lounge of Binkley Memorial Baptist Church Time: 11:00 AM Topic: 50 Years of Service - Where We Go from Here Speaker: Richard Ellington, immediate past President of the Chapel Hill Historical Society Richard was born and raised in Carrboro in 1945. His father, Carl Ellington, was a prominent building contractor for many years in Chapel Hill. Richard retired at the end of 2010 from UNC –Chapel Hill after 43 years in the IT division. He was conferred the Order of the Long Leaf Pine for his many years of public service to the people and State of North Carolina. He has been a member of the Durham-Orange Genealogical Society since 1992 and served as President, Vice-President, Program Chair, and newsletter editor for several years. Richard is the immediate-past President for the Chapel Hill Historical Society and is deeply interested in saving, promoting, preserving, and presenting the history and heritage of our area. He sees exciting times ahead for the society. This lecture is open to the public. We look forward to seeing you on Friday, March 10th! Lunch will take place at 12 Noon at Red Lotus, 239 S. Elliott Road, Chapel Hill. It is located in the shopping center near Monterrey Mexican restaurant.
