Dick was a friend in Chapel Hill for fifty-three years and his deceased wife, Charlotte, was also a close friend of my late wife, Rishie Baroff. Dick was a major scholar, author, business consultant, and developer of the MBA (Master of Business Administration) program at UNC. In addition to his intellectual pursuits, he was a pianist and small-band leader, a pilot who flew his own plane around the world and, ironically, in light of his agnosticism, a major philanthropist to the Jewish community. His like will not be seen again
At Peer Learning, he began to teach his agnosticism, that belief in God was not necessary to a happy life.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM in Judea Reform Synagogue in Durham.
It is my belief that his soul or spirit is now united with that of the loved ones that have predeceased him.
George Baroff
President Emeritus, Peer Learning
